Description

Take cornelian cherry (Cornus mas), give it showier exfoliating bark and slightly earlier bloom (along with similar edible fruits that ripen ruby-red in summer), and you've got this superior ornamental large shrub or small tree.  Rarely offered.

Full sun to light shade; most soils (drought tolerant); 15'x15'; late winter to spring; Zone 6
