Named for its lustrous, willow-like leaves, shining blue-star also offers celestial sprays of pale blue flowers in June, and butter-yellow foliage in fall. Native to rocky habitats in the south-central U.S., it's both adaptable and durable, thriving for many years in just about any sunny niche.
