The lower leaves of heart-leaf golden alexanders look like something you'd find at the base of an old-world sea-holly (another member of the parsley family, not-so-incidentally). But once plants get airborne in spring, they go the usual parsley family route, with ferny compound leaves and umbels of yellow flowers. A pleasing plant for wildflower plantings and cottage gardens, it's a favorite of black swallowtails and other pollinators. Propagated from seed. Deep 3.5-inch pots. Zone 3.
