A succession of deep blue, yellow-eyed flowers opens atop 10-inch stems beginning in late spring, belying the plant's common name, Idaho blue-eyed grass. Of course, like all Sisyrinchium, it's a member of the iris family, even though its leaves superficially resemble a grass. It's also one of our favorites of this wonderful genus.
