Silphium mohrii
$13.95
Exceptional in every way, the only white-flowered member of the rosinweed tribe is rare in the wild and even rarer in horticulture. Large white daisy-flowers open in summer above clumps of raspy and rabbit-resistant leaves that resemble those of compass plant (Silphium laciniatum), but on a smaller scale. This beautiful thing from hot gravelly Texas prairies is perfectly hardy here in Zone 6.
Sun; deep well-drained soil (drought tolerant); 30"x24"; summer; Zone 6
Propagated from seed; deep 3.5-inch pots
