Here we have cowslips of a different color, although some of them do bloom in the typical yellow.  Many, however, explore other fiery hues such as red and maroon.  The shaggy, shooting-star clusters of outfacing blooms appear in mid- to late spring.

Part to full shade; average to moist, humus-rich soil; 10"x10"; spring; Zone 5
