Hydrangea hirta

(No reviews yet)
Current Stock:

A rarified rarity from Japan (where it's commonly known as "small hydrangea"), this compact shrub offers frothy domes of palest blue flowers rather early in the season, on gradually spreading clumps clad in bold, toothed leaves.  As outstanding as it is obscure.

Part shade; moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil; 30"x30"; late spring to summer; Zone 6

Propagated from seed; deep 3.5-inch pots
