A sweet but prickly hedgehog of a plant from the hostile climes of northwestern China and Siberia, dwarf peashrub slowly forms a rounded dense hummock set with tiny pinnate leaves.  And, of course, lots of little spines.  Sunny-yellow pea-flowers decorate its branches in late spring.

Sun; average to dry soil (drought tolerant); 5'x5'; late spring; Zone 2

Propagated from seed; deep 3.5-inch pots
