Our favorite pussytoes, this native delights us with its silver-fuzzed, broadly spoon-shaped leaves that form gradually spreading colonies.  A bit too sparse-growing to make a weed-smothering groundcover, it's best for fronting or weaving among other plants, especially in informal settings such as cottage gardens and wildflower borders.  Then, of course, there are the inflorescences, fuzzy and silver-gray like little feline tootsies, borne atop 8-inch stems.  Adorable.

Full to part sun to light shade; average to dry soil (drought tolerant); 3"x15"; late spring; RI native; Zone 3

Propagated from seed; deep 3.5-inch pots
