Description

A compact perennial from East Asia, Amsonia elliptica is a delightful change of pace from other blue stars, most of which are large and from North America (not that they aren't delightful too!).  Its leaves are also relatively broad, lending a fuller, bolder effect that nicely complements the pale blue starflowers.  Outstanding and rare, like many things you'll find here!

Full to part sun; most soils (drought tolerant); 15"x15""; late spring; Zone 5
