Allium stellatum
$11.95
Pay no attention to the slight resemblance to Allium tuberosum. This superior, non-invasive onion bears umbels of deliciously scented white flowers on tall stems in late spring and early summer, long before its thuggish relative blooms. It's one of our favorites -- and it's virtually unavailable elsewhere. Propagated from seed, from a strain widely cultivated in China. 3.5-inch pots. Zone 5. Photo: Wilhelm Zimmerling PAR
