Rumex sanguineus

A sorrel for the foliage garden, red dock forms handsome tussocks of crinkled, lime-green, burgundy-veined leaves.  Young leaves make a splashy, tangy garnish for salads and other edibles.  Zone 5.  Propagated from seed.  Deep 3.5-inch pots.  Photo: David J. Stang
