Indispensable as a showy-flowered, evergreen ground cover for shade, creeping phlox spreads into weed-smothering carpets that give rise in mid-spring to mini-spikes of proportionately large blooms. 'Sherwood Purple' is an especially vigorous form with violet-blue blooms. Propagated from divisions. Zone 4. 3.5-inch pots. Photo: David J. Stang, licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0
