Description

This astonishing beardtongue from the Southeast sends up tall stems with clusters of glowing coral-red flowers collared by pairs of perfoliate, blue-green, eucalyptian leaves.  It's also distinguished by being the only red-flowered Eastern Penstemon. 

Full sun; well-drained (drought tolerant); 48"x12"; late spring to summer; Zone 6

Propagated from seed; deep 3.5-inch pots
