A delightful native for naturalizing in moist or partially shaded garden niches, water avens bears entrancing urn-shaped flowers with maroon sepals that collar the cupped pink or cream-yellow petals. They nod from 12-inch stems above pleasing rosettes of deeply lobed leaves, with bloom peaking in late spring. Zone 2. Propagated from seed. Deep 3.5-inch pots.
