A study in silver and blue, this biennial spends its first season as a rosette of large felted tongue-shaped leaves. In spring of year two, one-sided clusters of blue, dark-veined flowers are bone above the flowers on branching stems. As with most short-lived borages, it keeps going via self-sowing -- possibly aggressively in mild-winter regions.
