Description

The white flower spires of this woodland perennial are a feast for the eyes when they appear in late summer, providing cooling color at a time when shade borders are starving for bloom.  Deer and rabbits don't seem to have a taste for the plant, though.

Part shade; humus-rich soil; 3'x3'; late summer to fall; Zone 5

Propagated from seed; deep 3.5-inch pots
