Description
Originating from hybridization between Aronia arbutifolia and A. melanocarpa, this rarely offered native is intermediate to them in characteristics, including its edible dark purple fruits. The white late-spring flowers are similar to those of other aronias. As with its parents, it's one of the best low-maintenance deciduous shrubs for just about any garden. C & E North America. Zone 3. Propagated from RI seed.  Deep 3.5-inch pots.
