Description

A little charmer from woodlands of eastern North America (including Rhode Island), eastern red columbine attracts another little charmer — the ruby-throated hummingbird — with red-spurred, yellow-crowned flowers on wiry 18-inch stems in mid-spring. Well-drained, humus-rich soil is ideal. Zone 3. Propagated from seed. Deep 3.5-inch pots.
